On Sunday 29th January 2006 Nasser Ahmed of Vauxhall Hockey Club sadly passed away. Nasser
was 47 and had played his last game on Saturday before suffering a heart attack on Sunday morning. Over 30 years Nasser was a stalwart of Vauxhall Hockey Club and previously Bedfordshire Eagles
HC in Luton. He made an immense contribution to local hockey as a player, coach and umpire across Bedfordshire and the East Region. His humour, wise words and gentle manner will be sorely missed
by all who played and spent time with him and the community of friends he leaves behind will have many warm and fond memories. Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with his family during
this testing time - Nasser will always be remembered by his family of "brothers" at Vauxhall.
Nasser's family have requested that anyone wishing to
commemorate Nasser make a donation to the Asia Earthquake Appeal. Visit www.dec.org.uk and select "Donate to Asia Quake Appeal" -
many charities including Islamic Relief are part of this collaboration.
