Wapping                   2                        Vauxhall 1sts   1  (28th November)

Vauxhall visited top of the table Wapping in this rearranged early Sunday morning clash. Wapping started fast and showed early superiority. However, once Vauxhall settled into a rhythm it turned into an entertaining match. Wapping took the lead with a flick from open play and took the lead into half time. In the second half Vauxhall maintained their shape and continued to hold Wapping and even gain a few short corners. Vauxhall then scored with a well worked goal started by Nadeem Malik on his 25 yard line and after 3 passes Waseem Parkar finished to make it 1-1. Wapping then regained the lead from a well worked short corner. At the death Vauxhall had 2 opportunities to share the points and even hitting the post in the last minute. However, it was Wapping's day but probably Vauxhall's best team performance of the season.

Vauxhall 1sts                6                         Cheshunt        0 (19th February)

Vauxhall started brightly with a penalty flick in the third minute, created by Ash's direct shot on goalie intercepted by the defenders body. Graham converted. This was followed by a well worked goal finished by a flick from Sukhi. Vauxhall added a third in 10 minutes with another penalty flick this time converted by Brajinder in the top corner. Vauxhall had much of the play and ensured they went into the break 3-0. After halftime, Vauxhall continued their dominance with Manjit in a floating role up front and much of the play channelled along the wings. Defensive security from Nadeem, Yaseen and Alexis, ensured that Andy had only a couple of crucial saves to make. Further goals from Sukhi and Ash (2) gave the victory to Vauxhall against the struggling Cheshunt. Man of the Match, Ash Mahmood for a welcome return to form.

Shefford and Sandy                 1              Vauxhall 1sts   2  (26th February)

This was a must win game for Vauxhall in the relegation battle against Shefford and Sandy. Vauxhall started brightly and scored within 5 minutes from a well worked short corner, which Briji converted. Vauxhall then dominated the rest of first half with some excellent moves but failed to add to their lead, both Ash and Sukhi worked well upfront but were unlucky on numerous occasions not to find the back of the net. The midfield was offering good support especially from Ali and Manjit, however it remained 1 nil at half time.

Shefford came back strongly in the second half and were much more physical and aggressive, however the Vauxhall defence stood strong with excellent performance from Nadeem and Yasin at the back. Just as it was beginning to look like a 1 nil win with only 10 minutes to go Shefford won a Short corner which they converted and it was all square. Vauxhall did not let their heads drop and pushed forward, Sukhi worked very hard and again was very unlucky not to score, then with only 3 minutes remaining a well worked move from the midfield created a chance for Manjit who calmly pushed the ball into the right hand corner of the goal. It was an excellent result given the hostile environment and the physical aggression from the opponents, man of the match went to Manjit for an excellent display in his new role who worked very hard and scored the crucial goal.
